Pots for Food!

Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts, Asheville, NC
Date: March 24 – May 19, 2010 | 06:30 – 09:00

This class is designed for students who have taken a beginner level throwing class and want to learn more! Together, we will turn basic bowl, cylinder and plate forms in to functional objects like berry bowls, garlic roasters, lidded jars and pitchers. We will focus on taking the next steps towards making pots that can be used in the kitchen. The only prerequisite is the ability to confidently pull a cylinder.

Ceramics for Beginners: Wheel Throwing

A new instructional pottery book from Lark Books is getting ready to hit the shelves in January of 2010! Keep your eye out for this book written by North Carolina potter Emily Reason. Inside you will find helpful tips, techniques and plenty of inspiration for making your own pots on the wheel. Look for a few images of my work in the gallery!
